1805 Gallery’s Artist Residency is an opportunity for emerging artists of all media to explore concepts unique to their practice. Work produced by the artist will be presented at Art Above, a contemporary art exhibition located on the rooftop of the Porto Vista Hotel.  

The street level gallery space is located on the corner of Columbia Street and Elm Street in the Little Italy district of San Diego. 

I will be the artist in residence from June 3rd to June 23rd. I have a concept for a sculptural installation piece I'd like to explore that touches on the concept of dark energy. However, I'm in the midst of moving so my environment is fairly chaotic. Having the space to get away from that and just to be focused on anything creative is such a blessing for me right now. If my ideas for the installation don't pan out, I will enthusiastically use the space to work on some hand embossed and illustrative pieces.
