Art and Astronomy Come Together for One Special Night!

Join us for this premiere screening event at Fleet Science Center

On Thursday, October 26, join The Artist Odyssey, in partnership with Fleet Science Center’s Suds & Science program, for the premiere screening of A New Stellar Order, a short film about NASA Science Illustrator and fine artist Melissa Walter.

UPDATE: The premiere has SOLD OUT! To reserve tickets to the next screening (date and time TBD) email events@theartistodyssey.com with the subject line: Screening2...and let them know the number of tickets you want to reserve.

Film Summary: As a graphic designer and science illustrator for NASA’s Chandra X-Ray Observatory, Melissa Walter has spent a career interpreting the known universe. With her fine art work, she moves beyond literal expressions of planets and stars to create her own cosmos. In this short film, viewers will be drawn into Walter’s world of astronomical inspirations as she shares insights about her process on select works, including Dark Energy, her recent installation piece.

Mix and mingle, enjoy the film, and then take part in a discussion about science, art, and filmmaking with Melissa Walter, filmmakers Barbarella and David Fokos, and Fleet Astronomer Dr. Lisa Will.
